How to control flies in our house?

I live in Pollachi, TN, South India. Flies (in Tamil: ';Ee';) are the major concern for me. They're disturbing me like anything. I've tried disinfectors but of no use. Can anyone suggest how to get rid of these flies? How to control flies in our house?
Have you tried the insect zapper? make sure all foods are well covered. Another thing you can do is to install blind on every window and have your entrance and exit closed at all times. If you light a few candles in the room will also helps coz the heat from the candle will create disturbance in the air flow in the houseHow to control flies in our house?
Keep food covered and refrigerate/store or dispose of left over foods promptly. Don't leave unfinished drinks sitting around, especially sweetened or fruity smelling ones. Keep garbage in covered containers, both indoors and outside. If you use Dung as fuel, store it outside, a convenient distance from the house. Additionally, since some flies are attracted by odors from animal dung or rotting meat and others by fruity odors, relocate animal/pet pens farther away from the house and avoid using products such as fruity smelling bath soaps or air fresheners. Dispose of any animal carcasses you may find close to your house.

There are several types of fly killers available here in the US, anything from granules that can be spread around the yard to sticky trips or aerosol sprays containing insecticides. Here they are available at stores that sell cattle feeds, gardening or farming supplies, grocery stores and large department stores that have a wide variety of products. For indoors I prefer the sprays as it kills them upon contact. In the evenings, just as it's getting dark, I check my windows as they seem to group together on the glass and they spray them. If you can get an insecticide, always, always read the product label for usage instructions and health hazard warnings.

Good luck on solving your fly problem!
